3 day weekends...

Are the best! I love them. I feel like if every weekend were three days I'd have enough time to do everything I always wanted. I know this is probably a "grass is always greener" situation, but I think in this case it might be true because I like... no really like having two days to do whatever I want. Two days to stay up late, hangout with friends, maybe do some outdoor activities, even visit far away friends. This also still gives you a day to prepare for the week. As a teacher this time is critical.

This weekend was the perfect three day weekend! Mainly because my sister, a far away friend, was able to come and visit. She came in on Friday afternoon, and we've been attached at the hip until just now when she boarded a plane back to SoCal.

We spent most of Saturday brewing "Love Potion #3." For those of you who don't know, Erik and I (mostly Erik) have taken up the hobby of brewing beer. For Valentine's day we decided to brew a Red/Strong Ale modeled after my favorite beer Jeremiah Red (from BJ's). It was our third beer hence the #3 (our first was a Porter named: Burnt Bottom Porter. The second was a Pale Ale named: Cat Scratch Ale) Erik made this video this morning...

Sunday we visited the Crocker Museum here in Sacramento, and checked out a really interesting exhibit on Buddha/Buddhism. Here are Sarah and I at another part of the museum.

We also went to see Coraline. If I were a movie critic I'd give it about a 1.5 thumbs up. Really because there was one scene that Sarah and I agreed was completely unnecessary. But anyway, the 3D was way more interesting and fun than we anticipated.
This morning she helped me pick out glasses that I am anticipating needing someday :) It was fun. And now I miss her already...
