10. Getting Cable TV-
Whoo Hoo! This is something I have wanted for quite a while, and Erik got it for me for my birthday. We love the ON Demand feature as well as DVR. So long commercials...
9. Moving to our new place:
As many of you know we moved to a new place that is much closer to Erik's work. He can now ride his bike, and is loving it! We have also moved closer to many of his friends from work, which has allowed us to hang out with them a lot more.
8. Another good year of work for Erik:
Erik has had all psychiatry rations this year, and had a great Child Psych rotation in the fall.
7. Outside Lands Festival:
Right before school started we spent the weekend in San Fransisco for Erik's Birthday at the Outside Lands Music Festival. We got to see Radiohead, Cake, Regina Spektor, Wilco, Tom Petty, Broken Social Scene, and Andrew Bird.
Check it out in Catching up...
6. Getting a job at Bradshaw Christian School
Bradshaw Christian School is a K-12 private school. I have the privilege of teaching the 7th graders Life Science and the 8th graders Earth Science. Middle schoolers have been way cooler than I anticipated. The faculty has been great and we even went to the Bridge School benefit concert with Neil Young with some of them.

5. Visiting Friends
This year we got visits from Elaine and Jeff, Aaron and Michelle, the ACA Crew, and Ed and Amber. It was so great to see you all.

4. Visiting Family
This summer my family came for the 4th of July, and then we went down to visit the Youngdales.

And new to my side of the family is Quinn. He's my cousin Will's new baby :)
and my cousin Mike's wedding to Karrie in Riverside. Love is such a wonderful gift as was sharing in these wonderful events.
2. Getting Kayaks
Erik has wanted kayaks ever since he graduated Med School, and this year we finally go them. We go out as much as possible, and Erik will go out rain or shine. This new hobby has allowed us to see lots of wildlife on the American River, and has even gotten Erik into bird watching :)
1.Feeling fortunate and blessed.
In this time when life for so many is uncertain we feel lucky that we have each other, and such wonderful friends and family to share our life with.
Merry Christmas!
Mary and Erik
