Back from San Diego

For any vacation there are really just two goals.

1. relax and de-stress!
2. look like you went on vacation when you come back!

We headed down to San Diego on Wednesday night, and got in with no problems. Bridget, Joshua and Jordan met us there and brought us back home to Vista.

On Thursday we started small and headed to the beach. We had lunch at Ruby's dinner on the Pier in Oceanside, and then went sunbathing. Oh so relaxing!

On Friday Doug was able to join the entire family at Sea World. We planned it out, and made it to every show! We saw the Sea Lion show, the Dolphin Show, Shamu show, and Circ De Mer. (w/ a few repeats) I think the consensus was that the Dolphin show was the most fun! I love looking at all the animals, and even rode the new "Experience Atlantis" water ride.

On Saturday we had breakfast with Heidi at this great little pancake house. They served the most amazing pancakes I have ever had, and their coffee was served with real whip cream. Now that is goood! Later that day Andrew Camp came to join us for a Padre game(check out his new web page Christian Epicurean and read more about our night). Doug was able to score us some amazing seats! We were about 14 rows from 1st base! It was an amazing game too: the fourth game in a row that the Padres have won 2:1 and concluded with a walk off home run! It was also cap night, so everyone got these sweet little Padres Caps. And now that I have my very own glove, I was ready for any foul ball that came my way.

On Sunday we headed to Church and then to the beach again. Erik and I laid out and saved a bon fire pit for Jun's going away party. Jun came to the US from Japan about 10 years ago, and has spent most of her time living with Erik's family. Now that she has translated 4 books, she is heading back to Japan to see what God has in store for her next. Good Luck Jun!

On Monday my favorite sister, Sarah, came down to visit. We hung around most of the morning creating Miis on Joshua's Wii and then jumped around on the trampoline. I had seriously forgotten how much fun they are. Then we all headed down to the beach where we rented bikes and cruised around for a while. We did a little shopping, hung out at the jacuzzi, and finished off the day with dinner at Claim Jumper to celebrate!

Obviously our time in San Diego was awesome, but my favorite part, was the dying of hair that occurred on a whim our last night in town. On our way home from Claim Jumper we dropped by target and picked up dye for Bonnie, Bridget, and me. We got home and seriously had a "girl's night in." It was Bonnie and Bridget's first time. Sarah did Bonnie's highlights, while I did Bridget's hair (yes I dyed my mother-in-law's hair! kinda crazy I now, but it was awesome!) She looks great! When she got done, she then dyed mine. We had a blast!

On Tuesday we headed back to the Airport and home again. As far as flights go I have to give kudos to Southwest! They have just been awesome throughout all this airline drama! Our flights both ways were slightly delayed, but only by 10-20 minutes and they were quick to get us off and going.

So that is it. Our vacation in a nutshell. I just want to say thanks to the Erik's family for a wonderful vacation. They were great! I really had a great time ( I know Erik did too) and I love my new look (a little tanner, and a great hair color).
